DO YOU NEED AN AIR FRYER?
We love using our Air Fryer to make proteins like chicken, salmon, and bacon, crispy veggies, and sweet potato fries! It really is amazing for re-heating day-old pizza, and take-out French fries. You can even use it to make hard boiled eggs.
Air Fryers work by circulating hot air, allowing food to cook quickly and become crispy on the outside.
We got the Ninja Air Fryer with a 4 quart capacity (listed at $100) and we love it. Here’s why:
* Don’t have to wait for pre-heating
* Cooks food quickly
* Food comes out crispy
* Even frozen protein comes out delicious
* Has a timer feature, so you can walk away and the device will stop cooking on its own
* Dishwasher safe - a must for me! Not all air fryers are, so make sure to check!
Things I don’t like about our air fryer:
* Can only fit 2 chicken breasts at a time (a larger air fryer could fit more, and an oven could fit more)
* Temperature doesn’t go low enough for the recommended temperature to make hard boiled eggs
* Noise - sounds like a microwave, which isn’t too loud (but louder than an oven, which is silent)
* Emits some smell when cooking
* Need space to store it
As part of my review, I took 2 FROZEN chicken breasts, seasoned and sprayed them with EVOO, and cooked one in the oven, and one in the air fryer. The air fryer cooked the chicken 15 minutes faster, and we didn’t have to wait for it to pre-heat. As you can see from the this picture, the air fryer chicken appears golden-brown and crispy when compared to the oven chicken.
